Grassy Creek Watershed Foundation After several years of planning and paperwork, the state and federal governments approved the Grassy Creek Foundation. The foundation was formed so that property owners on the Barbee Lakes Chain would have the opportunity to have their contributions to the foundation be tax deductible. At this point, this is our major focus. For the present, however, this is how it works. Your donation can be designated for weed control, wetlands or administrative expenses. If you wish to donate material items, such as boats, pontoons or other items, the foundation can give you a statement placing a monetary value on the items, and this can also be used as a tax deduction. We believe having our own foundation for our lakes provides more benefits to our property owners and the foundation will always work closely with the BLPOA to make our lakes a better place to live and play.
